=E.M.A=

It was a post on one of my favorite blogs, Rummage Box, that got me to the =E.M.A= store at Creator's Pavilion.

The store is an eclectic mix of formal and casual items. Each design is unique and tends to come in only one color or texture. Although, layering options are limited.....the outfits come with a fun dance animation.

Here's "knit sweater". It's a cozy little sweater that's tied at the waist with a leather string belt. The result is a bunching of the sweater at the front - this cute effect is created by a prim attachment. The leather string detail is carried to the prim cuffs.

Knit Sweater

Several =E.M.A= outfits are all-in-one as shown below. This outfit is called "pink dress". It comes with the bolero, leggings and fishnet tights. All the pieces can be worn separately.

Pink Dress

The last outfit I am going to show you is called "standard dress". It's happily non-standard. See for yourself. If you click on the "turn" version of this skirt (or any skirt from =E.M.A= for that matter) you can adjust its position without having to open the standard edit window. The cropped jacket has a high lace collar which can get the way of a good snapshot.......

Wild about Bare Rose!

Thanks to FashCon, I received a notice last night about new designs at Bare Rose. Having recently discovered, and fallen in love with, Bare Rose, I ran straight over. I think everyone else in FashCon did to because the sim was hopping!

I snapped up 2 of the new releases, and found a slightly older one I'd been mulling over and finally decided to nab. Glad I did!!

This first one is Scottish Fold, a fun mix of Scottish and Japanese. It comes with slouchy, Japanese schoolgirl style socks but I decided to wear boots fo rthis one. I am IN LOVE with this outfit. The jacket has many prim parts, including shoulders, sleeves, cuffs, and a cute necktie which has variations for all of its colors. The skirt has two options, the one I'm wearing, and a mini-skirt. Also worn with this, "Old Boots" from Shiny Things, and "Lola" hair from =RaC=

This next one is called "Hot Nora". Adorable jean shorts and a t-shirt with shoved-up sleeves. the sleeves, waistband and legbands are all prim attachments. I wore my pink Chuck Taylors from Darkstar, and white sunglasses from Artilleri. Hair is by Slink.

This last outfit I forsee myself wearing very often. The sweater is called KnitKnit, and comes, like all of Bare Rose's outfits, with a variety of colors. I'm wearing the Pink sweater here, of course, and my favorite Tuli jeans and pink Chucks, and "Pompadour" from Zero Style. This sweater has 2 undershirt options, a longer one and a shorter one, and also comes with the cute flexi scarf. The set also comes with a system skirt. I cannot wait to see what Bare Rose comes out with next!! Thanks again, TheDiva Rockin' for the use of your photosphere :P

Getting to Know....Zeek Agnon

Behind the scenes at a successful agency such as MODA Fashion SL are the less visible team members who devote a lot of time and effort in ensuring the success of the organization.

We want to shine the spotlight on one such individual, Zeek Agnon. Zeek is a MODA Spotlight Model and a member of the MODA Modeling School team.

She came to Second Life over 2 years ago, "looking for a world were I could explore all possibilities and make friends from many different styles and personalities".

Zeek joined MODA Fashion SL in June 2007, "to learn modeling, fashion and make friends in SL's fashion industry". She feels that modeling has allowed her to express herself in many more ways than she normally would.

She loves the fact that MODA encourages models to participate and help other models, thereby creating a supportive environment for models to grow and learn. Her advice for those interested in modeling is to take modeling courses and jump in head first.

At MODA Modeling School, what you learn is well worth the time and commitment. Zeek stresses that although modeling takes a great deal of time and commitment, it is always rewarding and satisfying.

Zeek's favorite designers are Calla for hair - because she loves the tints; Shiny Things - because she loves the realism of the shoes, and Indyra Originals for her sassy, sensual clothes.

Modeling is not Zeek's only occupation in SL, she also owns a small store called Glitter Bug, where she sells shapes and other items she has built.

Cattiva and Cattavo

Lissa Maertens of CATTIVA and CATTIVO is making herself known as a talented designer. She has some exciting new designs and ask me to review a few of them. I was more than happy to do it. CATTIVA and CATTIVO offers fashions for men and women from casual to formal. Take a look at some of her designs below:

Cattiva Foldover Women’s suit comes in Aged Ivory and Navy. The suit is impressive with lots of detail from the pants leg cuff, pockets, lapel and buttons. The Aged Ivory and Navy make a great mix and match set as I have shown here.

Shoes: High Heel Leather Pump Black, Awori Cassini and Tan Mules, Lassitude Ennui White Blouse: Girl Power Outfit, CKS Designs
Eyeglasses: Danielle Turtel2 Fashion Glasses, Insolence

Lissa’s Jailbird Black dress can be worn in multiple ways to suite your mood. The Jailbird Cocktail Dress includes a flexi skirt, cocktail top and cocktail bottom featuring a horizontal stripe pattern. Dress it up or play it down, make it punk. This dress is fun.

Introducing Fann Hyun...MODA Supermodel

As promised, we are bringing you the outfits worn by another of the MODA supermodels during the Miss SL Tropics pageant that took place last weekend. Fann Hyun is an experienced SL model who openly admits that she comes to in-world “to escape from work stress and to realize my childhood dreams of working as a model”. In RL, she is a high-powered banker. Fann has a stunning avi and she loves SL because she “can model, learn, shop, and meet people from all over the globe”. She sounds like my kind of girl.

Although Fann was a late entrant into the competition, that did not stop her from putting together some of the most elegant and beautifully accessorized outfits of the pageant. Look at the outfit she chose for the swimwear category, it’s an asymmetrically cut swimsuit called Sea Leopard Split in Green from DellyciousWear. Fann accessorized this sexy swimsuit with Silvergold Trefoil leather Choker and Earrings by the same designer.

When it came to casualwear, Fann went for the very pretty Summer Garden Dress with matching shoes from ZVZ Ultra Violet Fashions. This dress is overflowing with spring flowers and features a beautifully sheer flouncy prim overskirt and a dramatic V-shaped bodice. Fann accessorized this sweet flower outfit with Chunky Silver Bangles from Second Mirage, and Amber Drop Chain dangle earrings and Amber Very Long Triple Drop chain from Shiny Things.

It was in the formal category that Fann’s skill for accessorizing really shone through. Starting with the bejewelled Mystic - Skylark with Winter Amethyst Gems gown by Sherona Degroot of *DG* Innovations (see below), Fann added two simple items to complete the outfit; the Queen Heidi Armband by the very talented Alienbear Gupta of Alienbear Designs and earrings from the Trilogy set by JoJo Designs Jewelery. These accessories completed the stunning sky blue evening gown with its lace trim and ethereally flowing silk flyaways – to produce a truly a fabulous modern look.I really admire those who know what to add to complete an outfit. If you are one of those people let us know and what the trick is in your opinion. Our Fann definitely knows how to make and complete an outfit….wouldn't you agree?

Beach Day

This post comes from Jujudoll Dancer, CEO of the MODA Modeling School. Normally Juju's working with designers, setting up classes or scouting locations, but even a busy CEO has to relax some time!

I've been needing a Beach Day lately. You know, just one of those days when all you have to do is decide what kind of fun to have. I was recently reminded of that a few days ago when a friend introduced me to surfing in SL. We had a blast, and I would love to find time to go back, but for the first time in SL, I was also having a wardrobe crisis. I realized that I own 1 fabulous bikini to wear on the beach, and really nothing to wear to the beach. (Everyone knows we can't just run around in our bikini's, right?) It's a girl thing.

I fell in love with this dress immediately when I found Julex at closeout sale. I guess when a designer has a closeout sale, she really means it because the creator of the Julex line seems to have left SL. Still, I love colors and fun textures and this simple sundress is so very … Summer. To give it the full Beach Day look though, I needed to find the perfect beach hat, which actually required some serious shopping. While there are quite a few new hat designers, now that sculpties are here, but this one came from Tesla, and it's the perfect hat. What I love most about this hat is that no matter how I resize it, it always seems to be a perfect fit. Thank you SL for Sculpties! The Swank beach bag has color-change petals in case I need to put it with another outfit. The shoes were harder to find. So many of the straw and wood textures end up being too bright to really accentuate anything but themselves. Shiny Things, once again, has saved the day with these cute little Cool Summer Wedges in white. And they match!

For the jewelry, I was unsuccessful at finding a matching set of anything fabulous with daisies. So as usual, I mixed and made them work. The Aquamarine Gold Flower Bracelet is from Elexor Matador Jewelry, the White Gold & Aqua Flower Necklace is a treasure from A Fantasy Emporium and the earrings are made by me our of frustration and lack of better options for purchase.

With this ensemble, I am now officially ready for the beach! Ok, maybe not any beach, it has to have shopping on it ;)
